Bio

BobBob DeNatale has been a writer for Marvel Comics, the lead singer in the punk art band Kill the Messenger, a percussionist/composer for the industrial trance band XSX, and a filmmaker.

He is a butoh dancer and was artistic director of the experimental dance/theater company Flesh & Blood Mystery Theater for 20 years. He has performed throughout the U.S. and internationally. His films include both experimental shorts and narratives. His latest project is the 40-minute mini-feature “The Art of Dreaming.”

He was a founding member of the music/performance groups XSX and Kill the Messenger. He has also performed with Vivisection, Uro Teatro Ankoko the Qube Chx, and Idiot Flesh. In 1999, he appeared in the independent film, Oakland Underground, directed by Michael Goorjian. He has taught butoh in San Francisco and at festival appearances and was Associate Producer of the San Francisco Butoh Festival. He is a former writer for Marvel Comics, an accomplished percussionist and composer, and film editor.
